We diagnose and treat all potential heart-related symptoms — including chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, fatigue, leg swelling, heart palpitations and more.
Our goal is to provide our patients with quick access to a specialist assessment, modern diagnostics, and close follow-up without unnecessary waiting time. We work closely with GPs and hospitals, and if additional examinations are needed beyond what we offer, you will be referred further.
Referral and appointment
To get an appointment with us, you need a referral from your GP or another doctor. The referral is sent electronically by the referring physician. If this is not possible, it can be sent by post to:

Waiting time
The waiting time varies somewhat throughout the year, but most patients receive an appointment within a few weeks. If the referral is assessed as urgent, it will be prioritized according to medical need.
We always strive to offer appointments as quickly as possible, and patients will be notified if any changes occur to their scheduled time.
Payment
Hjerteklinikken i Harstad has a public healthcare agreement, so you only pay the regular patient fee, just like at public hospitals. Any additional services or examinations not covered by the public system will always be communicated in advance.
After your appointment, you’ll receive an SMS link with several payment options. If you have an exemption card, it will be registered automatically. Missed appointments without valid notice will be charged according to current regulations.
